Äleklinta is where the scenic stone coastal road begins. A walk or a jogging tour along the old remaining quarries and the ancient monuments only some kilometers away to the very picturesque old fishing village of Bruddesta or a bicycle tour or a car ride with spectacular view past Djupvik and Sandvik all the way to Byrum with its amazing stone formations. Camel riding – believe it or not! - within walking distance and golf courses about 25 minutes car ride north or south. Äleklinta offers a great portion of a unique combination of what makes Oland so special – cliffs with millions of years of old layers of slate and limestone, the steppe of the Alvar with its rare vegetation and birds, ancient sea walls concealing pre-historic monuments, culture and spectacular beauty and – not the least – a wonderful close-to-nature expererience with exceptionally many sun hours!
