Småland is one of the greatest provinces in Sweden and that can be understood when one realizes everything that one can do there. In Småland there are many beautiful places such as Jönköping, Växjö, Kalmar, and Västervik among the larger ones and smaller but not to forget pearls such as Värnamo, Oskarshamn, Vetlanda, Eksjö, Älmhult, Vimmerby, Hultsfred, and Sävsjö. One can understand that the Germans love Småland, with its vast forests and small lakes, red cottages with white trim, and a silence and stillness that will make anyone feel the core of life.

Sweden is as you may know, internationally known for its beautiful glass art and design, and much of it comes from Småland and what we call the Kingdom of Crystal. Blowing glass is a craft that has existed since the 1800s. Kosta Boda and Orrefors to mention some household names that people around the world are familiar with today. Every year more than a million visitors come to the Kingdom of Crystal, which is a small area between Kalmar and Växjö, more specifically it includes the towns of Emmaboda, Lessebo, Nybro, and Uppvidinge. A visit here is incredibly interesting and rewarding. Perhaps therefore many return year after year. Here you can buy yourself an heirloom.

For those who want to have some fun with the kids, or if you are a child, then there is The World of Astrid Lindgren in Vimmerby with both Pippi and Emil, or why not play cowboy and indian in the world's largest western town High Chaparral outside of Hillerstorp. And the world's largest furniture company IKEA is from the enterprising Småland. Do we need to say more? There is something for everyone.

Västervik and its archipelago is another popular summer retreat where you can rent a cottage for the summer or any time of the year for that matter. There are plenty of nice rocks and islands to spend time with the family, either in all peace and quiet or with activities and experiences, or a little of everything at the same time but still not.

In short, Småland is a large area that contains the most for the most. Enjoy!
